- Powell May International was established when A.S. May and C.B. Powell merged the Industrial Divisions of two long established food brokerage importing companies, A.S. May since 1917 and C.B. Powell since 1942.
- Powell May International represents some of the largest companies in their fields.
- We supply Canadian companies coast to coast. We also import products into Canada from overseas countries, such as China, Turkey and Chile.
- Our customers are manufacturers of sauces, condiments, frozen home meal replacements, dairies, ice cream manufacturers, snack food manufacturers, bakeries, and private label retail and re-packagers.
- Our customer base includes the largest multinational food companies.
- We represent our principals to our customers through purchasing as well as the R&D and QC functions to ensure the complete acceptance of the product from a price and performance perspective. We work with our customers to develop, refine, and ultimately deliver their finished product in either a retail, foodservice, or home meal replacement form to their customer.
- We cover all of Canada, we offer a total of over 75 years experience in the food ingredient marketplace.
- We are active in various trade and professional associations, such as the Canadian Importers and Exporters Association, the Bakery Council of Canada, and the Network of Ingredient Marketing Specialists.
- We track sales performance in units and dollars so that we can spot potential trouble spots and react to solve issues thus allowing us to be proactive instead of reactive.
- We can present in a number of languages, including French, Spanish and Portuguese, giving us greater access to the mix of potential customers in the marketplace.
