Powell May International has, for many years, built strong relationships with manufacturers in all categories of the food industry; across Canada, North America and worldwide. Building a strong manufacturer and customer network continues to contribute to our strength of supplying globally sourced ingredients.
Over the past few years our team has seen a change in the food industry, with our manufacturers and customers looking for natural, functional ingredient and product ideas. Thus, we at PMI are turning our focus towards innovative concepts, to tackle today’s trends and consumer requirements.

Many of our manufacturing customers have incredible innovations but do not have the time or resources to effectively market themselves to the grocery, mass merchant, drug store, club store and independent retailer private label teams. This is where the Powell May International team steps in.

Through our strong relationships with the grocery trade in Canada, Powell May International works closely with the private label teams of many of Canada’s leading retailers (our own retailer customers). We present new innovations and custom solutions that are on trend and meet the customer’s strategy, while also positioning those products into the specified categories.

We become the one point of contact for our customers’ private label teams. One invoice, one receivable; while managing inventory, inbound, customs/duties, warehousing, and local distribution.

We have a full logistics team who continuously review consolidation options to improve competitiveness while maintaining the best quality in service. Our two warehouses are strategically placed nationally, and supply all major retailers today. .

Our overall objective is to source locally throughout Canada, where possible. Canada has a lot to offer, and most of the innovation we come across is through Canadian based manufacturers who are looking to differentiate themselves from competitors, while staying on trend. We have developed excellent relationships through selling them our ingredients for many years.
